History at our heart
The Trigger Pond has been a beloved establishment for the local community and visitors for years.
Built on the foundations of quality, consistency, and a welcoming atmosphere, the pub has remained true to its core values since its inception. Hands may have changed, but the vibe remains the same.
With a focus on maintaining the same high quality standards and ethos, The Trigger Pond continues to be a go-to destination for a pint, a delicious meal, and provides the perfect backdrop for fun-filled gatherings.

A timeless structure
The building itself is a stunning 17th-century listed property, with the earliest part of the structure dating back to 1637, and an extension added in 1693. Over the years, the building has served many purposes, including as a butcher’s shop.

Glimpse into local traditions of a time gone by
One fascinating piece of history is the open metal grid on the outside wall of the building, which used to be used any time of day by villagers to bake their bread in the outdoor ovens. The building features two ovens, which are no longer in use.
After dropping their dough into the ovens, villagers would find themselves inside The Trigger Pond enjoying a pint, a tradition that’s still honoured at The Trigger Pond today. Except, now they can break bread, pizza and delicious dishes that have been lovingly prepared for them!
